Nanocatalysts Impregnated Polythiophene Electrodes for the Electrooxidation of Formic Acid
Conductive and porous polythiophene (PTh) films, which are used as host matrices for Pt and Pt/Pd nanoparticles, are synthesized electrochemically. PTh films containing nanometre-sized Pt and Pt/Pd bimetallic particles are electro synthesized on an indium tin oxide (ITO) glass plate by voltammetric cycling between –0.1 to +1V (Vs Ag/AgCl / 2M NaCl). The ensuing PTh electrode, modified with nano...
متن کاملPalladium thorn clusters as catalysts for electrooxidation of formic acid
Pure palladium thorn clusters were synthesized using the electrodeposition method. The clusters were composed of several thorns growing on one basis. Each thorn was composed of hexahedral units with decreasing sizes. The whole thorn was a single crystal along the <220> direction. The cluster was synthesized by square wave electrodeposition. By changing the deposition factors, a mixture of thorn...
متن کاملElectrooxidation of Formic Acid and Formaldehyde on the Fe3O4@Pt Core-Shell Nanoparticles/Carbon-Ceramic Electrode
In the present work, the electrooxidation of formic acid and formaldehyde; potentially important fuels for future fuel cells, was investigated on the Fe3O4@Pt core-shell nanoparticles/carbon-ceramic electrode (Fe3O4@Pt/CCE). The Fe3O4@Pt nanoparticles were prepared via a simple and fast chemical method and their surface morph...
متن کاملPoisoning effect diminished on a novel PdHoOx/C catalyst for the electrooxidation of formic acid.
A surprisingly high and stable current was observed after the peak current on the PdHoOx/C catalyst indicating the diminished poisoning effect. Moreover, the novel PdHoOx/C catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity and stability for formic acid oxidation due to the large electrochemical surface area and electronic effect.
متن کامل3D-nanoarchitectured Pd/Ni catalysts prepared by atomic layer deposition for the electrooxidation of formic acid
Three-dimensionally (3D) nanoarchitectured palladium/nickel (Pd/Ni) catalysts, which were prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD) on high-aspect-ratio nanoporous alumina templates are investigated with regard to the electrooxidation of formic acid in an acidic medium (0.5 M H2SO4). Both deposition processes, Ni and Pd, with various mass content ratios have been continuously monitored by using...
